Creating A New Goodreads Reading Goal

I created a post on the 4th May 2016, about how I had completed my 2016 Goodreads Reading Goal for the year, within a couples of months of reading, because of how low I had originally set my reading goal, due to certain reasons. Setting it at just 26 books to read for 2016! I just happened to check my Goodreads Reading Goal today, just to see how many books I have read and therefore surpassing my current Reading Goals challenge so far this year, and I have surprised myself by seeing that so far, I have read 42 books! Not to bad considering the year I’ve had. That’s 16 books more than my original goal and we are only in July! Wow! That equals 28 books ahead of schedule and puts me at 162%. Not bad for my first Goodreads Reading Challenge. I definitely set my goal too low. Now on visiting and checking this goal, I noticed something. You can edit and change your goal you set for your Reading Challenge. That completely shocked and amazed me as I never knew that, but now I do, I so happy. Did you know that you could do that?

Knowing I can change my goal to something a bit more challenging and have something a little bit more difficult to work towards, rather than having this tiny one that I had already completed and almost doubled, is brilliant. Now my only question is, what should my new goal be? I’ve seen loads of peoples’ reading goals set at 50 books, but considering that we at in July and I am currently at 42 books, I think 50 books would be easy to reach and only requires me reading 8 books. I’ve also seen peoples’ reading goals set at 100, but again, we are in the middle of July, and I am not at 50 yet so I would definitely need a push to reach 100, so this goal would definitely be the challenge I’d be looking for. Ok so maybe something in between, or a little bit over, 75, or 80 books. Do I want to be realistic or do I want to push myself and go for the challenge? What do you think I should set my new Goodreads Reading Goal at? Do you have a Goodreads Reading Challenge Goal Set and if so, what is your goal set at (if you don’t mind me asking)?

      Very true!!. 😀
Plus with this weather and unexpected events popping up lately, such as this recent car accident. Now I have several time consuming physiotherapy sessions ahead of me, as well as exercises to do at home. So 75 definitely sounds like a good number, and if I go past it, then it’s a very good bonus 😀
